Meet Dana Keener, Billings Spiritual Counselor

Dana has been an invaluable team member for four years, demonstrating unwavering dedication and reliability. Her colleagues and clients hold Dana in high regard, recognizing her exceptional contributions and the positive impact she brings to their lives.  

We recently asked Dana a few insightful and fun questions to better understand her journey as a Stillwater Hospice team member and beyond.

Stillwater Hospice: What year did you start with Stillwater Hospice: 

Dana: 2019

Stillwater Hospice: What would you be if you weren't so dang good at your current job?

Dana: A studio artist, oil on canvas.

Stillwater Hospice: What is the best advice you have ever received? 

Dana: "I can't never could do anything."—High School Coach Randolph

Stillwater Hospice: What would your superpower be if you were a superhero? 

Dana: The ability to heal with my hands.

Stillwater Hospice: Cats or dogs; do you have any? 

Dana: One dog…a Bassett named Roscoe (two points for those people that know the origin of his name:) and a cat named Fifa (named by a 12-year-old obsessed with soccer).

Stillwater Hospice: What is your favorite word in the English language? 

Dana: Cattywampus.

Stillwater Hospice: What advice would you give a candidate who wants to join our team of superstars?

Dana: You've been hired because you are excellent, so go be excellent!

Stillwater Hospice: What's the most inspiring part of your job?

Dana: Just one? How about three: my peers who are amazingly smart and compassionate, our patients who are inspiringly vulnerable, and the caregivers who draw from a very deep well.

Stillwater Hospice: What is the most important thing you learned as a child? 

Dana: Sometimes you have to sit down and make a necklace out of clover and just be in the moment.

When I was 5, I was sure I'd be a [JOB/PROFESSION] when I grew up. 

Dana: POTUS.

Stillwater Hospice: What else would you like us to know?

Dana: I grew up in Kentucky and I think cornbread and biscuits and fried green tomatoes is food for the gods. My husband and I are now grandparents and it truly is the best gig ever!
